Acceptable Delay in Digital Hearing Aids
The processing delay in digital hearing aids has the potential to interfere with the amplified sound quality of speech. Tolerable delay values are well established, and this issue is thoroughly studied when hearing aid processing is designed. Siemens products are designed so that effective signal processing is maximized while all delays still fall at or below research recommended values.
Adaptive T-Coil - Optimizing speech intelligibility & listening comfort for severe to profound hearing loss
The adaptive t-coil in the new Siemens Nitro SP reduces the level fluctuations oftentimes associated with induction loop systems, thereby optimizing speech intelligibility and listening comfort. Study shows this feature to be most beneficial for patients with severe to profound hearing loss. Secondarily, the adaptive t-coil could also be an alternative when a phone program is required for this population.
